Looking For Peace With God?

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
    before you were born I set you apart..."

Jeremiah 1:5

Are you looking for peace in your life? Is there a stirring within you for something deeper? Are you pondering the meaning of life? Are you looking to connect with God but you've never really taken any steps toward Him? God loves you. In fact, you were His idea. He wants to open your eyes to the reality of Him & call you forward into His destiny for you. He already has a eternity-long narrative that you are playing a part in, whether you know it or not. He's already been speaking to you even when you haven't recognized it. There is so much more to discover.

But the first step in the journey toward experiencing peace  & purpose (abundantly now and eternally later) is to recognise that true and lasting peace has a source—God. The Creator of all. He knows your soul. And He knows the best way to live in peace & harmony with one another. But because of our nature, we are separated from Him & separated from knowing His ways. We disobey Him and do our own thing. We are sinners. We have free will each day in how we live, think & treat others. Because of freewill, people have the power to act, behave, speak in their own wisdom or lack thereof.

 

We are in need of a Saviour. We are deeply in need to connect to the Creator so that we can truly LIVE & connect in to His presence, plans & transformative healing power that He freely gives. 

 

Jesus Christ is the only answer to this dilemma (John 3:16). He died on the Cross for our sins and rose from the grave. In this way, Jesus bridges the gap between God and people. In His time on Earth, He was always pointing people to the Father God. Jesus often said, repent (turn away from your sins) and choose a new way.  Are you ready to trust Jesus Christ and receive Him into your heart by personal invitation & get connected to God, your good, Heavenly Father?

  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. 

  No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

HOW TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST:

1. Admit your separation, your need for forgiveness and your desire to connect to God. 

2. Be willing to turn from your sins, your own ways, believing that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the grave

3. Through prayer, invite Jesus to forgive your sins & be your Saviour, your King, your leader 

4. Ask the Holy Spirit (God's presence on Earth) to fill you with greater measure, comfort you & guide you in all God's ways. (John 14: 16-21, Ephesians 5:18)

God's love is overwhelming. May you know His deep, rich, pure, unconditional love for you. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

​

As quickly as you can, connect with some Christian friends & pray about plugging yourself into a healthy, Bible teaching community for continued encouragement, direction, growth and family. Ask God to guide you to the right place for this season in your life. May you experience the deep restorative love, freedom, and healing you've been longing for. He is good. He is faithful. But it's important to know that faith in Christ is not just a ticket to Heaven. It's not a religion. It's a living and active lifestyle. God the Father is looking for friendship & partnership with you, throughout your entire life that you may shine His light, love & restoration into the world.

“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you

and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.

But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before

long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize

that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who

loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

John 14: 15-21
